Robert Bohannon

Before joining the Asbestos Industry Rob worked for several years in construction, starting at 16 years old with his father a Master Builder, he then worked for several local Brighton and Hove based companies, Llewellyn, McAlpines and A & F Pilbeams to name a few. Rob was working for Brighton Building Services when The Media Centre at the heart of the town was undergoing a major refurbishment programme.

Asbestos was discovered on this site and this was when he first became involved with the substance that changed his career path.

This telling event eventually led to his involvement within the specialist Asbestos industry, as BBS were involved with Perkins Insulation, a long standing local company that serviced the insulation sector and the asbestos removal industry, working with the likes of Glaxo-Kline-Smith in West Sussex.

Therefore whilst a qualified thermal engineer, re-insulating pipes in boiler houses and loft spaces with foil and HMV products, Rob became actively involved with the removal of hazardous asbestos materials prior to reinstatement.

Having worked his way up the company ranks Rob eventually joined a large dedicated asbestos removal and surveying company.

From simple operative to senior supervisor it was a natural step for Rob to move into management. Ever striving to improve himself, he quickly passed his P402 surveyors course and became an accomplished BOHS surveyor. Before long he joined a new company starting in the surveying department and then at the MD’s request 'taking the bull by the horns' and becoming Contracts Manager within the asbestos removal department. Several Health & Safety courses later Rob was appointed Contracts Director and was then offered a Directorship of the group.

During his employment at this company Rob was collectively responsible for a multi-million pound increase in sales and profitability.

ADL are pleased to welcome Robert Bohannon to the company as he has always strived to progress and improve the basic standards of safety involved in the management of this potentially lethal substance. He is passionate in his work to improve awareness and comply with any and all Health and safety aspects of the removals and containment of all hazardous containing materials.

More than anything Rob knows this industry inside out, and away from the complicated legislation is able to convey to clients the importance of compliance awareness, always giving 'Site Specific Solutions' with a common sense approach.
